Methodology
We highlight videos that are outperforming their channel size using transparent metrics. These signals are displayed independently rather than combined into a single opaque score.
Views‑per‑Subscriber (VPS)
VPS = views ÷ subscribers. This normalizes performance by channel size and helps detect videos that reach beyond their usual subscriber audience. The ratio is a discovery signal, not a quality score.
Correlation does not prove causation. VPS cannot explain why a video performed or predict that another video will perform the same way.
Velocity
Velocity measures how quickly a video accumulates views relative to its publish date. We compare recent performance to surface fast‑moving videos.
Engagement Rate (ER)
ER = (likes + comments) ÷ views. This is an audience-response signal when data is available, not a quality, clickbait, or predictive assessment.
Update cadence
Snapshots are generated on a scheduled basis. Results can lag real‑time by several hours depending on collection windows. Counts can change, and rankings are snapshots of the data available at collection time.
Ranking approach
We do not combine metrics into a single proprietary score. Rankings emphasize transparency so you can interpret why a video appears on the list. They identify candidates worth inspecting, not instructions to reproduce a video.
Responsible references
Discovery does not grant permission to copy footage, audio, scripts, thumbnails, branding, or other protected expression. Creators remain responsible for permissions and platform rules. References should inform original work.
